Sovereign Harbour Residents Association Loose its Web Manager

It was announced on Sovereign Harbour Residents Association Website... see www.shra.co.uk ..... that SHRA Web Manager have given his resignation to the Chairman of the Residents Association.

I know Tony Smith SHRA Web Manager for quite a while since he moved to the South Harbour.

Tony is a talented Web Manager who sacrificed hundred of hours in doing something he like... Managing and Designing websites for charities such as the one he manage for Sovereign Harbour Social Club.

Tony other hobby is digital photography as he is passionate about that.

I am sure someone will step in and take the running of SHRA website but I am sure it will not be same without Tony Passion.

I and many others in the Harbour will be missing Tony's work in keeping us all informed and up todate with gossips and latest news.

Thank you Tony.

Sovereign Harbour Cookery Clubs - Why Two Clubs Explained

My original idea is to have one Cookery Club in Sovereign Harbour to add to the collections of clubs I have initiated in this part of the world.

My first thought was to create something of interest for this community and the surrounding residents in the neighbouring area.

I have explained previously to how I came to decided on the day, the launch date and the name Sovereign Harbour Cookery Clubs.

Events took different turning when I was speaking to some of my clients at my business in Watford.

It was suggested to me that I should start selling the Full Range of Gluten Free Products at a discount prices in Watford.

I did my research and I found that in this area in East Sussex there is no Celiac Group.

I contacted the charity Celiac UK and they confirmed to me that they have members in this part of the world but not a group gathering.

Celiac UK told me that they are thinking of starting in October such group.

I seized on this opportunity by setting up a second cookery club in Sovereign Harbour specific for those who suffer from food intolerence such as Celiac.

The Gluten Free Cookery Club in Sovereign Harbour will be launched on Monday the 12th of September at 3pm to be located at Simply Italian Annex, Sovereign Harbour Waterfront.

I look forward to meet everyone who wish to participate.

It is FREE to join  but a 50p levied each time to cover cost of paper and ink.

You must register in order for me to accomodate everyone - space with Simply Italian Annex is limited.

You must also purchase a drink as part of the agreement reached with the owners of the premises.

I am in the process of setting up in Watford a completly new trading company to back this project with new premises for stock taking and negotiating discount prices with importers and manufacturers to be offered to members of The Gluten Free Cookery Club in Sovereign Harbour.

The Gluten Free Cookery Club in Sovereign Harbour will be a Non-Profit making club in support of this community and others residents from outside the harbour.

Please send me an e-mail to register

Sovereign Harbour - New Window of Hope

On Friday morning  the 5th of August 2011, the Residents of Sovereign Harbour woke up with a New Dawn and a Hope.

Several years gone by and more years ahead would have been wasted for the residents of the harbour to fight  Carillion plc - the land owner.

They will have been no guarrantee anything would have been achieved in future wait for the residents in order achieve - no more development in the Harbour.

Our New MP Mr. Stephen Lloyd who took over from Mr. Nigel Waterson in winning the last election, took the task of doing many things to benefit Eastbourne.

Stephen.... I salute you !!

Years of past struggle to achieve what is right for the Harbour Resident lead us to nowhere.

Years gone by with wasted time and energy... no hope in sight.

Only last week, I mentioned to a friend that nothing will be acheived in the future in Harbour within my life time.

How wrong I was.

The lastest News took us all  by surprise - No wounder my friends close to the action kept there mouth shut away from gossiping.

Now I understand..... I forgive you !!!

It took  a common sense for only by working together and compromise here and there that Sovereign Harbour Community will in the future prosper and have everything ( ALMOST ) but surely small things better than nothing.

The Harbour Residents owe SHRA Committee BIG THANK YOU in fighting for years on our behalf.

Lets see if Carillion plc will now play ball.

And, once the work of SHRA finish.... The New  Harbour Community Association will be the one who will take over  future running of Community  Facilities in Sovereign Harbour.

I wish everyone all the best and THANK YOU.

Sovereign Harbour Retail Park - Proposal Radical Change

Sovereign Harbour Retail Park was previously known as The Crumbles.

Built about 15 years ago and originate as an out of town Shopping Park to complement ASDA Supermarket who own the land on the otherside.

To mark the two sides, a road, the main thoroughfare leading from the Petrol Station to both ASDA and the Retail Park mark the boundary line.

PRUPIM ( the Prudential Property Investment Managers Ltd ) who will be delivering the project of upgrading the Retail Park on behalf of the site owners - The Prudential Assurance Company Ltd.

The Plan in progress is for the area previously occupied by Fitness First Building will be put as proposal to demolish the present building and to replace it with...

**  New Restaurants and shops
**  A state of the art 9 screen cinema
**  Modernise frontaages for existing retailers
**  An improved pedestrian link between the retail park and the adjoining residential community
**  Additional parking spaces with improved car park layout
**  Proposed bus link through the Park linking Atlantic and Pacific Drive with Harbour Quay.

It is planned to rebrand the name of Sovereign Harbour Retail Park to give a new name... Sovereign Central to mark the regeneration of the area.

However, whoever thought of the name Sovereign Central did not realise that we already have similar name in use localy... Sovereign Centre which located within Sovereign Park, just outside Sovereign Harbour.

In my opinion, the name should be " Sovereign Harbour Central " to reflect its central position within Sovereign Harbour.

We already have Sovereign Harbour North and Sovereign Harbour South.

Lets be clear - Sovereign Harbour Retail Park is not part of the land owned by Carillion Plc the landowners of Sovereign Harbour.

For that reason, I can only propose that PRUPIM should look at including a Community Hall ( Not a Community Centre ) to be built on land behind the present cinema site.

Sovereign Harbour Community is so short of places we can hire for activities and the only hall available within Sovereign Harbour is at the Yacht Club where they charge £200 per hour.

Sometimes, Sovereign Harbour activities take place at the Haven School in the South Harbour but the school is very stretched.

I wish PRUPIM well in there New Plan and thank them for listening to the local residents.
