Sovereign Harbour My view on Eastbourne Plan

Happy New Year 2011 to all my followers on this Blog.

As residents of Sovereign Harbour Community, we were woken up to a New 15 years Grand Plan published by Eastbourne Borough Council in East Sussex.

I asked myself, what happen to the Old Plan ??

As residents of Eastbourne are asked to be consulted and obtain our views for the next three months, I want the world to share my view as one of many residents in the Harbour.

Sovereign Harbour as a Community have waited a long time for miracle to happen.

The Land Lord, in this case, have been unwilling to give up one inch without a ransome.

Who is going to pay for the land ??

Eastbourne Borough Council have put an emphasis on locating A Science Park in Sovereign Harbour - This is not new.

What they failed to mention - where is in the plan the location of a New Up market hotel with a Conference Centre.

Also they failed to mention where to locate a Community Library ??... my suggestion for the last four years is for East Sussex County Council should use the empty premises within ASDA in Sovereign Harbour Retail Park to give us, we the residents of Sovereign Harbour, a Community Library instead of wasting our Tax Payers Money on a Mobile Library visiting the harbour for two hours a week.

Eastbourne Borough Council also failed to locate two important sites, in my opinion....

the first is to locate a plot of land to build a Church.

the second is to locate a Fast Food/ Leisure Park behind the Muti-Screen Cinema at Sovereign Harbour Retail Park.

In my opinion, 15 years of developing Sovereign Harbour further within the Grand Plan will take the residents  three local elections and no one knows what the future hold.

Councillors of various parties come and go and those who leave us, pass the back to the next...

We need a local champion to push through and put in motion several issues to be solved immediatly.

I do hope the residents of Sovereign Harbour will be lucky enough to find such a " Knight " among our mist.
