Sovereign Harbour counts its 2010 blessings

The end of the year 2010 is upon us and on reflection, so many things have happened in this small  and up coming community - I thought, the world should know, by leaving a footprint for the next generations to look back on the year 2010 in Sovereign Harbour.

The year 2010 was very exciting for those already living for sometime in Sovereign Harbour.

Some may have left us to settle somewhere else but many others took there place and I hope during the coming years, those who joined us, will make many friends and take active part in the life of Sovereign Harbour Community.

To start with, the Harbour Women Institute have celebrated there third anniversary with membership now soring to 95 members - the biggest membership the local WI have ever seen for years - its membership is now closed to new members because where they meet, at the Harbour Yacht Club, accommodation is limited for safety reason. However, a waiting list was opened during the year and every one from the Harbour can attend and put there name down. - Well Done to the Harbour WI

The second exciting news is that we have now a fully chartered Rotary Club in Sovereign Harbour.

In June this year, Sovereign Harbour Rotary Club have received its Charter after reaching it 20th members in less than 12 months from the Club applying.

At present, Sovereign Harbour Rotary Club who meet every Tuesday at 7pm at Simply Italian Restaurant in Sovereign Harbour,  have over 25 members and growing in popularity - well done !!!

Sovereign Harbour Social Club have celebrated its 2nd birthday.

Members meet every Wed. at 10am at for Coffee at Seamoor Wine Bar with average weekly attendance of around 40 - everyone is welcome.

The latest addition to the Harbour in 2010 is the setting up of a new association called " The Harbour Community Association" in order to take on various social activities in the harbour in enticipation of running future Community Centre in Sovereign Harbour.

I wish them well.

Other Community Activities in the harbour are too numerous to dwell upon but for what this Community in Sovereign Harbour is doing, it is sheer miracle without even a Community Centre - thanks to Sovereign Harbour Residents Association - SHRA whose Committee Members should be congratulated on the wounderful work they have done by giving there support and encouragement to New Activities in the Harbour - Thank you so much on behalf of all of us and Happy New Year.
